Devlog 2


 Hello again everyone! 

I know it's been a while since the first dev log so I apologize. I have been very hard at work both on Empyrean Swarm and on many of my other game projects, including the annoying stuff like building my portfolio and applying to jobs!


Onto the goodies! MANY MANY changes have been made to the game since the demo was uploaded! For starters, it now saves your progress through each level! It has become more of a small RPG at this point, but I think it's for the better. I wanted to make the game larger and it just didn't feel right for you to lose progress between levels. Now all experience gained stays on your character, as well as all weapons and major upgrades will now be gained from bosses rather than in level-ups so you can savor those juicy levels for some of your favorite guns!


As for the music in the game, don't get too attached! My good friend Elias is hard at work crafting some unique tracks for the final release. I don't know if I can state how excited I am in a small blog post...his tracks are BOMB! I've gotten to listen to a few of them personally. He tells me they're not complete yet but you could have fooled me. I don't mind though. I know his perfectionism will definitely pay off in the end because I already love what I'm hearing and it will only get better!!!


I will be adding even more enemy types in the coming weeks and months before launch, but here are a few new ones for now...

I decided there wasn't enough guns in the game, so I gave the squidies some guns:
